The St. Louis Community College (STLCC) Florissant Valley campus Advanced Manufacturing Center has been under construction since August of 2023. On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, STLCC held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the facility. This milestone for the new three-story, state-of-the-art facility represents STLCC’s unwavering commitment to meeting Missouri’s workforce needs by preparing students for careers in manufacturing, engineering, technology, and technical trades.
Staff, students, project team members, and community leaders all joined STLCC to celebrate this accomplishment, participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony, and tour the new facility. The ceremony featured remarks from STLCC leadership, Missouri State and St. Louis County officials, including Gov. Mike Kehoe and St. Louis County Executive Sam Page. Industry professional James Dewees, VP of Manufacturing and Safety for the Air Dominance Division at Boeing was a featured speaker, along with the project contractor Scott Rakonick, Sr. Project Manager at Kadean Construction Company.
Within this multi-purpose facility, there are multiple training labs and classrooms for fields like HVAC, welding, electronics, and biomedical equipment repair. Faith Group worked alongside architect JEMA to perform engineering design and consulting services for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low voltage systems for the facility.
