On Saturday, June 1st, the St. Louis County Library held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of phase 1 and opening of the Post Event Space and Plaza, located at the Clark Family Branch in Ladue, MO. Post Holdings, Inc. has sponsored the Post Plaza and Event Space in support of the St. Louis County Library, its mission, and the region.
The ceremony consisted of remarks from Kristen Sorth, St. Louis County Library Directory & CEO, Diedre Gray, Executive Vice President General Counsel and CAO of Post Holdings and Lisa Hanly, St. Louis Library Foundation Board Member, followed by a sold-out talk and Q&A with Grammy Award-winning musician, Darius Rucker, who introduced his memoir “Life’s Too Short”.
The new 800-seat event space is the new home to the library’s popular author series. The space can be divided into four separate rooms, and will be available for programs, community meetings and other special events. St. Louis County Library proudly hosts the largest, number one author series in the country.
The Clark Family Branch is the final branch in the Your Library Renewed Campaign, which began in 2014. Since that time, 6 libraries have been built, and 13 have been completely renovated and expanded. The Clark Family Branch is a 2-story building, 74,000 sq ft., and once completed, will be the largest branch in the St. Louis County Library District. The Branch is named after Bob Clark, Executive Chairman & Founder of Clayco, who donated $4 million to the project in 2022. The Branch will be open to the public on July 9th.
Faith Group is currently working with ICS Construction Services in cooperation with the St. Louis County Library – Clark Family Branch to provide commissioning services.
