Community Center Commissioning Services
Wentzville, MO
The new $40M multigenerational Community Center was built with the goal of increasing the quality of life in the Wentzville area by providing access to aquatic, athletic, and social activities that engage and strengthen the community. The 83,000+ sf. facility includes indoor leisure and competitive lap-lane pools, water slide, senior activity space, multi-purpose two-court gymnasium, elevated track, fitness floor, multi-purpose aerobic studios, Kids Club childcare and preschool, eSports lab, innovation lab, community and meeting rooms, office and conference rooms, and classrooms. As a subconsultant, Faith Group was the lead Commissioning Authority (CxA) for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for the new facility.
In the early stages of the design phase, the design team implemented multiple modifications of the building’s mechanical hot water system which resulted in incorrect fabrication of hot water pumping and piping systems. Faith Group’s early commissioning efforts discovered these inconsistencies in the design documents, and our functional performance testing was modified to be more robust and ensure the systems’ configuration performed as required to service building needs.
The building was designed with an aquatics natatorium that was furnished with high-precision climate control equipment. Faith Group reviewed installation and controls integration, and our CxA witnessed functional performance testing for integration between multiple pieces of equipment, including pool air handling systems, pool water boilers, pool filtration systems, pumping systems, energy recovery, and economizing systems.
