Faith Group developed the first-of-its-kind video surveillance system (VSS) master plan for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. for 44 vessels and 31,000+ cameras fleet-wide. This is one of the most comprehensive programs in the travel industry and included existing conditions assessment, stakeholder workshops, product demos and evaluations, gap analysis, strategic plan including recommendations, and an implementation and phasing plan. Faith Group also assisted the cruise line by preparing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for new hardware and software as well as operations and maintenance contracts for existing technologies. Our team performed a holistic evaluation of the entire VSS environment, including cameras, analytics, software, network, server, and video storage. Other recommendations included additional staffing, organizational changes to the in-house security group, and a governance model that supports on-going continuing improvement and evaluation.

The $50M plan included multiple funding sources and phases coordinated with numerous ship renovations and new capital program. The plan included projections and ROI analysis aimed at reducing overall incident claims, decreasing onboard incident response times, and increasing analytics needed to monitor on-board venue performance. Following the plan’s delivery, Faith Group then led the VSS plan implementation, with full design, engineering, and project management services, until the program was paused due to Covid-19 in early 2020.

Faith Group successfully addressed numerous challenges, including design of a video analytics program to support multi-stakeholder use cases, development of organization-wide governance and management program to solve operational and technical issues, and implementation of virtualized infrastructure to increase system resilience and performance.
