Faith Group serves as prime consultant to develop and implement a multi-year Safety Management System (SMS) Program for the City of Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) for both the Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) International Airports. The focus of our scope was to develop and implement a holistic Safety Management System (SMS) program to reduce risks to life safety, resources, and infrastructure by identifying hazards and creating mitigation plans for the airport-wide stakeholder community. The program’s goals are to operate in a more predictive manner, by tracking and using available data to develop trends and key performance indicators. The team is also conducting systems analysis and defining program database requirements to further support the SMS program.

This project also includes assisting the Airports with other safety related programs, such as updating severe weather & evacuation plans, while working toward an enterprise-wide risk management program. The team is also on-call to facilitate any FAA 5200.11 Safety Risk Management Panels as needed for planning and engineering projects that might affect the National Airspace System (NAS).
