Philadelphia International Airport
On-Call Security and Special Systems
Philadelphia, PA
Faith Group has served as the on-call security and special systems consultant for the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) since 2013 and has served as a strategic planning on-call consultant for computer information systems management since 2017. The team has participated in foundational projects, including developing an IT master plan with roadmap and creating and subsequently updating the airport security master plan with roadmap. Additionally, Faith Group has been involved in other highly visible and complex projects including a comparative analysis of biometric exit technologies with Custom & Border Protection’s (CBP) traveler verification system, using live flight and passenger data and feedback. This project led to the deployment of biometric exit solutions throughout 25 locations.
The Airport’s desire to enhance passenger and staff security and safety has led to several large initiatives including a campus-wide replacement of the access control system and a replacement (and anticipated 300% expansion) of the video surveillance system and implementation of a specialized surveillance system for the three commercial runways. To manage the updated technology systems, we created an initial concept of operations plan and performed design for a new and expanded Airport Operation Center (AOC). Faith Group has been involved throughout the entire life cycle for these multi-year, multi-million-dollar programs, which includes requirements development, preliminary design, program budgeting, formal design and permitting, construction administration, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
“Today we held the debrief on TSA’s testing of the Baggage Handling System at Philadelphia Terminals D/E. The system not only passed but the testing team highlighted the ‘excellent performance results’ and the fantastic ‘can do’ spirit by everyone involved. We received the approval to go live by the TSA FSD today as well. We still have a lot of work to do in finishing up spaces and tie ins but this is a huge inflection point and we are thrilled to move forward. If you happen to see Jeff Tubello from AECOM and Harold Flamenbaum from Faith Group or Robin Baughman from VTC – please hug them. Their resilience and dedication got us here and on behalf of the airport we are incredibly thankful for the result on what has been a difficult project.” Diego Rincon, Deputy Director of Aviation – Philadelphia International Airport
