John F. Kennedy International Airport
Terminal 1 Redevelopment
Queens, NY
In 2017, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey released “A Vision Plan” for John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) that established goals, objectives, and a roadmap for developing a 21st century airport. Faith Group was selected as part of an international consortium consisting of Design/Build team members AECOM Tishman and Gensler to deliver the $9.5B New Terminal One (NTO) development. Our firm is playing two critical roles on the project: 1) as engineer of record for design and construction administration services for the NTO security and IT systems, and 2) as Master Systems Integrator (MSI) Program Manager. The program consists of a multi-year, multi-phase redevelopment, which completely replaces Terminals 1, 2, and 3 with a new 23-gate facility that will focus on enhancing passenger processing through the deployment of advanced systems. This will include creating a single token biometric-enabled travel experience which includes more than 120 self-baggage drop units and passenger flow analytics from curb to gate. Supporting infrastructure includes a software-defined secure network architecture and high-density Wi-Fi, with comprehensive real-time location services (RTLS) to support informed decision making, LiDAR for queuing and flow monitoring, and a highly integrated analytics dashboard for Airport Operations. When the first phase opens in 2026, the facility will be the most advanced airport terminal in North America and will fulfill the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ).
Under separate contract, Faith Group is also serving as the Master Systems Integrator (MSI) program manager consortium for the international terminal facility. We are staffing a number of key pooled resource positions including Program Manager, Project Controls, Scheduling, Airline Liaison, Pre-Production Center Manager, and Commissioning Coordinator.
